Naomi was the Biblical Mother responsible for bringing about the union of Ruth, her daughter-in-law, and Boaz. Their marriage led, several generations later, to King David, and ultimately to the Mashiach, or the Messianic Era. As with the Ruth kippah found in my shop, this head covering also takes the form of the Tree of Life, but with autumn colors, as Naomi was older than Ruth.
The letter Aleph in this yarmulke (representing the wordless communication of Naomi and Ruth's friendship, as well as the first letter of the first word of the Ten Commandments), is made from silver bugle beads, while Ruth's is gold. The tree itself is made from copper, and the two leaves which dangle from the kippah represent Boaz and Ruth. A comb will be attached to hold it in place on your head.
A reminder that redemption takes persistence!
