Colors
Jewish mysticism assigns a color, a name and certain attributes to each sefirah, or manifestation of God energy in the universe in general, and the human body in particular. As part of a group made up of spiritual seekers, artists, musicians, writers (and some who are all of the above) I was pondering one of the Names of God assigned to the sefirah of Hod, translated as Humble Glory, and it's interaction with Tiferet, or Beauty- another Godly attribute. The Name Elohim Tzevaot can be translated as the Lord of Hosts, and yet, the shoresh, or root of the Hebrew can also be related to Tzeva, colors. And who flies colors? Armies. Here's the poem I wrote in response to the evening prompt:
God of Colors, Flags, Armies and Hosts
God of Colors, Flags, Armies and Hosts,
Each has a color
Each has a flag
Some give
Some receive
Some change places
When the need is great
When false flags are raised
Seemingly in Your Presence
