Naomi is the middle-aged Biblical woman who, after her husband and sons were deceased, left the land to which they had traveled to escape famine in the land. Ruth, one of her daughters,-in-law, refuses to be turned away, following Naomi to an unknown (to Ruth) land. Ruth and Naomi's loving friendship contains an element of the Divine, symbolized by the Aleph made from silver bugle beads. Copper beading and wire represent Naomi's being in the autumn of her life, while the twinned gold leaf dangle represents the union of Boaz and Naomi, which will bring about the Messianic Era in which all will live in peace.
